Longmorn distillery was founded by John Duff, Charles Shirres and George Thomson in 1893. They started production in 1894 and passed through several ownerships over the next few decades. In 1970, Longmorn became a part of the Glenlivet Distillers Ltd, which was acquired by Chivas Brothers in 1978. Chivas Brothers was then acquired by Pernod Ricard in 2001.
