About Caperdonich Distillery:

Caperdonich was built in 1898 by the founders of the Glen Grant Distillery and was originally called Glen Grant #2. The Distillery closed after just 4 years and remained dormant until 1965 when it was rebuilt by Glenlivet. By this time it was prohibited to run two distilleries under the same name at the same time so it was renamed Caperdonich. It was sold to Seagram in 1977 and then sold to Pernod Ricard in 2001. One year after purchasing the distillery they closed it and in 2010 it was demolished.
