Glentauchers distillery was established in 1897, owned by James Buchanan. The distillery was closed in 1985 and was bought by Allied Distillers in 1989, now owned by Pernod Ricard. The Distillery began production again in 1992. Almost all of its production is for blended whiskies and single malts are uncommon.
