Official Tasting Notes:
Colour: Midnight at the oasis.
Nose: Oooft, what a nose! Complex like calculus, with a battle raging between sweet and savoury! Burnt toffee, BBQ sauce, balsamic glaze, chocolate coated chorizo balls (I swear I had these at a wedding in Spain).
Taste: Viscous, rich and full-bodied. Dark chocolate and fudge to the fore, alongside a curious but most welcome sweet balsamic presence. Quite a spicy dram; cracked black pepper and ground cinnamon are not shy here. Honourable mentions too for liquified brown sugar, peanut butter and cocoa powder, which all contribute. There's a lot going on here. Allt-a-Bhainne or Altered Beast!?
