Arbikie 10 Year Old, The Signature First Release
The Tasting Notes
Ripe peach and banana bread sweetness from the bourbon casks, lifted by bright lemon sherbet, resting on a clean cereal backbone that speaks to the integrity of the malt.
A structured, invigorating mouthfeel opens into brioche bread sweetness, sharpened by lemon zest and deepened by apricot marmalade, with a gentle saltiness giving definition and a sense of place.
Creamy coconut and vanilla lead into floral orange blossom and vibrant spice, closing on a thread of minerality and lingering maltiness.
Details
Arbikie’s first single malt, The Signature First Release, was distilled at the farm in 2016 using Odyssey barley grown on the estate’s own Angus fields. The whisky was then matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks, with every stage from field to bottle taking place on the same estate.
The nose offers ripe peach and banana bread, followed by brioche and apricot marmalade on the palate. The finish brings creamy vanilla and orange blossom. Just 1,000 bottles were produced.
