The Balvenie DCS Compendium is a whisky collection curated by David C Stewart, the fifth and longest-serving Malt Master at The Balvenie Distillery. Drawing on over 50 years of experience, David has carefully selected 25 casks of the Balvenie, divided into five chapters that illustrate his life's work.

The five casks selected for chapter four - Expecting the Unexpected showcase that in spite of Davis's efforts to harness the influence of oak and time, experience tells him to embrace the enduring mystery that surrounds the alchemy of maturation.

Nose: Fragrant, floral and fruity with pineapple, melons and vanilla pods.
Taste: A luscious mouthful of fresh fruit, toffee and maple syrup.
Finish: Rich, creamy with a warming spice.
