The Second release of Balvenie Peat Week
The Peat used in The Balvenie is from Speyside. The peat has a higher proportion of ‘non-phenolic’ characteristics which give the whisky earthy, smoky notes and contains much less of the ‘phenol’ which gives the salty, medicinal characteristics of Islay Whiskies
Heavily Peated Balvenie whisky matured exclusively in American Oak Casks
Distilled 2003.
Aged: 14 years.
