Beinn Dubh Thunder in the Glen 20th Anniversary

Originally a barley mill and croft dating back to the 1700’s it finally closed in 1965. Over the next 25 years it was slowly and lovingly converted into a single malt distillery which started producing spirit on the 3rd December 1990. The old mill and water wheel were retained and are still in working order.

The Distillery takes it’s name from the original Speyside Distillery in Kingussie which started in 1895 and only produced until 1905 before being demolished in 1911. The Speyside Distillery – Home of Beinn Dubh is closer to the source of the River Spey than any other distillery in Scotland, providing access to the area’s richest, purest water.

One of the best kept secrets near Aviemore is the picturesque Speyside Distillery, continuing distilling Scotland’s Spirit in time honoured artisan tradition. The distillery is proud to have offered something very special for this year’s 20th Anniversary Thunder in the Glens.

A specially selected release of a Beinn Dubh single malt whisky. This special whisky was selected for the event by ‘Mad Dog’ George McGuire on his visit to the distillery in May.
