The Tasting Notes
Nose
Gentle islay peat provides the backdrop for this whisky, with lemon curd, soft red apples and red grapes coming forward. Milk bottles and a touch of eucalyptus. Beneath all of this, you have a malty sweetness, like porridge oats that you forgot to stir.
Palate
Baked red apples, lemon meringue pie, olive oil, baby Caol Ila, quite industrial with machine oil notes and a slight metallic edge.
Finish
White pepper, kiwi, green grapes and Maldon salt

This Ben Nevis single malt was distilled in 2013 and bottled at 12 years old by Thompson Bros. One of only 247 bottles from a Dechar Hogshead. This release was bottled in 2026 with natural colour and without chill filtration.
