Tasting notes...
Colour - Rich old gold.
Nose - Deeply resinous and fruity. Ripe nectarine and dark cherry through to mixed glacée fruit. Christmas cake. Liquorice. Praline nuttiness. Clove spice and newly-sawn wood develop into old furniture polish. Worn-out leather. Comfortingly (sweet) dusty old books. Feint oiliness / old workbench perhaps?
Palate - Weighty, broad and complex, but with great acidity. Tinned fruit syrup. Pannacotta. Toasted oak, mocha coffee and roast almonds. Dark maple syrup. Notably thick and chewy texture. White pepper spice at the end.
Finish - Supple, warming and a very long dense finish.
