Ever visible, as you travel around Speyside, is Ben Rinnes. At its base, on the north side of the mountain, is the workhorse distillery of the same name. The spirit produced there, using traditional worm tub condensers, is sturdy and full. For the Soldier this powerful spirit has been matured in refill sherry butts, accentuating the meaty, weighty character of the make and adding layers of currants and dried oregano.
