Benrinnes 2010 12 Year Old, Dram Mor Single Cask #302360
Benrinnes sits peacefully on the lower slopes of Beinn Ruaidhneis in the heart of Speyside just a short trip from Dufftown. Throughout its histrory Benrinnes has been known for producing spirits for blending, as such it has never been a notable brand in its own right. However, as Independent bottlers, they are able to show you just how good a dram Benrinnes really is. Signature Benrinnes showcases fresh dough, toffee chip biscuit and floral notes.
Cask Number: #302360
Cask Type: First Fill Bourbon Hogshead
Bottles: 330
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Yellow dried sultana
Nose: Almost a white wine nose with promises of chilled chardonnay. The gentle aroma is strengthened on second visit with mild tropical fruits and a hint of ripe banana and just a touch of menthol.
Palate: Oh, that’s lovely. There is sweet fruitiness with the addition of an almond marzipan coating. This is Angel Cake in a glass but with a slightly more potent kick.
Finish: That ‘feel good’ sponge cake flavour carries on through the finish. It’s like a treat from childhood but with the grown up joy of a great single malt.
