Big Peat 12 Years Old carries a big, sooty, oceanic, and seriously phenolic selection of malts distilled only on Scotland's whisky island of Islay. The distillers there are renowned for their predominantly peaty, smoky character, all offering variations on the theme of ash, beach bonfires, coal dust and tar. Big Peat, a marriage of Single Malts distilled at, amongst others, Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen Distilleries, encapsulates that feisty spirit of Islay in this very bottle!

The nose opens clean, fresh, salty and oceanic, developing to sweet Malt dried over peat. On the palate, anticipate charred oak, chimney smoke, rock pools and summer tar, running to a long and lingering finish with brown sugar, bonfire ashes and a real phenolic quality.
