Black Bowmore 1964 31 Year Old Final Edition
Details
Bowmore Distillery, established 1779, is the oldest working distillery on the island of Islay. During the course of 1964 its new owners, Stanley P. Morrison LTD., invested in an intensive upgrading of the distillery. As part of this, the traditional copper pot stills were converted from direct coal firing to indirect steam firing. Ther first distillate following the conversion, Black Bowmore, has been matured in the original distillery vaults below sea level undisturbed until its day of bottling.
Remarkably complext yet mellow, Black Bowmore is a superb example of an Islay whisky matured in sherry butts.
Distilled 1964 and bottled 1995.
Please note that this is an old bottling and as such the fill level is a little lower than its original fill level. The bottle has been sealed with parafilm to reduce loss. This can easily be removed and does not damage the bottle.
