Bunnahabhain Feis Ile 2019, Sauternes Cask
Since 1881, Bunnahabhain Distillery have been producing exceptional, distinctive single malts. They do this through a mix of traditional processes, fine ingredients and patience, lots of patience. An ethos shared by their French wine counterparts. So when their Senior Blender, Dr. Kristie McCallum, discovered a delicious 12 Year Old quietly maturing in their coastal warehouse and three Sauternes wine hogsheads, she knew the pairing would produce a single malt worthy of the Bunnahabhain name. More than four years later, they have selected two of these hogsheads, containing a now 17 year old Sauternes cask finish , for release at this year's Feis Ile. With notes of sweet, creamy, salted caramel, balanced with a mouth-coating dark chocolate finish, they're delighted to have a third cask of this delicious whisky remaining.
