Caperdonich 18 Year Old Peated, Batch CP002
Details
Caperdonich Distillery, on the banks of the river Spey, is no more. A building opened in 1898 and taken down brick by brick, in 2011. This single malt is all that remains of the whisky from the 'secret well'.
Even in its heyday, Caperdonich was a little distillery, making whisky in small batched. Other distilleries grew and grew, but Caperdonich stood firm and true. While the building may be gone, the distiller's craft lives on.
Smoky bonfire comes together with the classic sweet and fruity speyside style. Matured in oak barrels, this rare and robust single malt is subtly layered with initial aromas of peat, followed by a taste of apple and brown sugar, gentle ginger and warming orange.
Distilled in American Oak Barrels
