While this long awaited leader is yet to re-appear, his Cargo has arrived.
Rich volcanic soil, unpolluted rain water and hand-cut sugarcane produce a rum of unique quality. Its flavour weaves the sweetness of sugarcane with dry spices to create a perfect aromatic balance.
The story begins in the South Pacific during World War II. Thousands of American GIs suddenly descended on isolated island chains in Melanesia and Polynesia, arriving by ship and aircraft bearing unimaginable riches: crates of magical foodstuffs that never spoiled, tents, jeeps, cigarettes, and inconceivable power sources. The vast amounts of cargo meant drastic changes to the lifestyle of the islanders, many of whom had never seen outsiders before.
Just as abruptly the troops departed, leaving only rusted Jeeps, crumpled beer cans, and the memory of tinned meat.
Cargo Cult, Spiced Rum.
