Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition, 2022 Release

The Distillers Edition is a collection of master-craftsmanship. Each cask in the series is individually selected and perfectly matched to the character of each of the single malts refined here. The two-parted maturation process gives more depth and complexity, which is the idea behind the limited Distillers Edition: preserving the perfection of the single malts that have already been awarded for their outstanding flavours. The selected taste nuances are more strongly accentuated in a way that is not found in the regular bottlings, but with fully maintaining the original character of these fine single malts.

Tasting notes:
Appearance: Harvest gold. Long legs. Good viscosity.

Body: Medium.

Nose: Lightly heathery and sweetly honeyed, the aroma is beautifully introduced by a nutty-fruity waft of Oloroso. Tropical fruit notes of banana and pineapple give it a really appealing character, further developed by hints of fresh apricots, walnuts, and a little wood spice.

Palate: Creamy-smooth and coating, flowing lightly over the tongue. The taste is honey sweet, yet soon buzzes with warming nutmeg and pepperspice which nicely balance exotic, fruity hints of grape, peach and apricot.

Finish: Quite long, attractively sweet and malty yet also clean and with plenty of white pepper spiciness. Elegantly drying, vanilla-rich oak-spice lingers in the aftertaste.
