Domaine Fournier Sancerre Les Belles Vignes 2025
The Tasting Notes
The nose is sustained and asserted on lemony aromas accompanied by blackcurrant bud notes.
The first sensations in the palate reveal a subtle and rich aromatic array, with a refined and silky ‘lemon-sorbet’ texture.
Details
Domaine Fournier’s Les Belles Vignes is a Sancerre made entirely from estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from vines over 20 years old rooted in limestone, clay and flint soils. Aged on fine lees for added texture and complexity, it undergoes no malolactic fermentation, preserving its crisp, lively character.
Pale straw gold with a hint of green at the rim, the wine opens with aromas of honeysuckle, Meyer lemon and wet stone. The palate brings gooseberry, flint and a subtle herbal edge, with an elegant, focused structure. Bright and approachable now, it can also mellow gracefully with a couple of years in the cellar.
Sancerre’s natural vibrancy and minerality make this a versatile pairing for light dishes, particularly fresh oysters, delicate clams, mussels and summery salads.
