Chenas is the smallest appellation in Beaujolais. This red wine has been produced with Gamay grapes, a notable and very old variety of purple coloured grapes, known to be grown in Beaujolais for use in red wine. It has been mentioned as long ago as the 15th century. Granite soil crossed by quartz veins gives this wine its minerality and purity. This is a full-bodied wine with floral and woody notes.
