Edinburgh Whisky New Town The Advocates Batch

This blend was created to honour the New Town Project which was first suggested in 1752, the largest planned city development in the world at that time designed to house the wealthy, and to attract back to Scotland the absentee noblemen who now lived in London. We feel this blend reflects the quality expected by gentlemen of a certain standing.

Quintessential Speyside. Elegant, complex and very well balanced.
Honey, citrus, malt and floral – in that order.
Sophisticated small batch blend.

COLOUR: Bright old gold

NOSE: Warm honey and spices – nutmeg and powdered ginger – link with ripe pear, candied citrus fruits and Seville orange marmalade. Lightly toasted malt and oat notes develop into sugared almonds and ginger snaps. The wonderfully sweet fruit becomes more tropical and floral notes appear, before the sweetness returns as aromatic white chocolate.

TASTE: Mouth-wateringly rich citrus in balance with warm acacia honey. Gets the juices flowing. The citrus, honey and floral notes are constantly swirling around each other. Lovely sweet acidity, with a nuttiness – almost like baklava. Smooth and coating with a notably long finish.

IMPRESSION: Really elegant pure Speyside malt blend, full of interest and reasons to return. Complexity without heaviness. Refreshing and genuinely very moreish.
