Details
Fettercairn Vanguard 1st Release marks an exciting evolution of the distillery's acclaimed Scottish Oak Programme, showcasing an innovative approach to cask maturation.
The journey began on 28th February 2008, with new make spirit filled into first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and matured for 14 years in Warehouses 1 and 2, allowing Fettercairn's signature tropical fruit character to flourish. The whisky was then transferred into bespoke hybrid casks, crafted with American oak staves and medium to heavily toasted Scottish oak heads, adding layers of sweet vanilla and warming spice. Finally, it was expertly married with hand-selected 8-year-old first-fill ex-bourbon matured whisky to create a beautifully balanced Highland single malt.
