FOURSQUARE EQUIPOISE
From the Exceptional Cask Selection series EQUIPOISE is a Single Blended Rum, in that it is a blend of heavy and light marques distilled in the copper double retort pot-still, and the continuous twin column stills of Foursquare Distillery. Fully matured at Foursquare, before blending and bottling. Presented at 61% alcohol by volume, without chill-filtration, at its natural colour, and free from sweeteners and other adjuncts.
Excitingly for enthusiasts and fans of the famous Barbadian Rum producer, this is the first time that the team have released a bottling that utilises ex-Calvados casks as a part of the maturation. A complex bill brings together a ten year ex-Bourbon cask Rum, that has enjoyed a further four years in ex-Calvados cask for a total of fourteen years. This dual maturation is then further blended with a fourteen year old ex-Bourbon cask aged Rum.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Fresh ginger, dried raisins, tart Victoria plum skin and cooking apples. Dark chocolate, toffee and shortcrust pastry.
Palate: Soft creamy apple pie onto the palate. With gentle notes of coconut, and vanilla ice cream.
Finish: Dried hazelnuts, and more dried coconut. Coupled with astringent notes of black tea with a tartness, and a little fresh ginger heat.

The recognisable house style of Foursquare Rum has been interwoven with the influence of the Calvados cask in the harmonious manner we’ve come to expect from the expert blending team. An excellent Rum to spend some quality time with.

With a near perfect score of 99 / 100 in the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2024, FOURSQUARE EQUIPOISE is the twenty-fifth release (Mark XXV) in the Award-Winning Exceptional Cask Selection series from Foursquare Rum Distillery, Barbados.

A complex and evolving sip, that is balanced in its delivery. Its approachability belying its presentation strength. A truly excellent and desirable Rum that you would want to return to time and again.
