Girvan 1964 55 Year Old, Berry Bro's Exceptional Casks, Cask #3
This Girvan is named Exceptional from Berry Bro's, but why is it Exceptional?
This rare and exceptional old grain whisky was produced at Girvan distillery, situated on the south west coast of Scotland. Girvan opened in 1963 on the former site of a munitions factory and for a few years the single malt, Ladyburn, now very rare, was produced at the complex.
Tasting Notes
This exceptional Single Grain from Girvan’s first year of production gives rich waves of vanilla and nuts surrounded by fresh apple and oak resin.
The palate is lively but layered with more vanilla, cinnamon and orange citrus bursting through.
The finish is so well paced and long leaving a wonderful impression of sophistication and maturity.
