Glenallachie 43 Year Old Director's Special Single Malts of Scotland
Details
Only exceptional whiskies are selected by their Director to be bottled for this exclusive series from the Single Malts of Scotland. Each bottling is aged to perfection, celebrating both the classic characteristics of the distillery and the subtle changes created by time and oak.
Only 313 bottles were produced from a single sherry butt of Glenallachie single malt Scotch whisky.
Aged for more than 43 years.
Nose: Gunpowder smoke and dark, bitter chocolate with cured beef and balsamic vinegar glaze. Herbal notes follow, paired with thick cut orange slices cooked in red wine with cloves and cardamom. More meaty and spicy notes develop: salami, pastrami and black pepper.
Palate: Chocolate stout with citrus and cherries sit heavily on on the tongue and coat the palate. Rich and creamy espresso coffee blends with walnuts, peppercorns, bittersweet naval oranges and tobacco. The flavours combine to give a bitterness akin to a perfectly made Negroni cocktail.
Finish: Cigar smoke, blood orange and toasted nutmeg.
