Glencraig 1976 42YO Signatory 30th Anniversary Cask #4283
From 1958 to 1981, Glenburgie distillery was equipped with two Lomond stills, which it used to produce a single malt called Glencraig. Distilled on 11th June 1976, this very fresh and dynamic version takes pleasure in playing with contrasts. Firstly in its aromas, it harmoniously unites fresh and dried fruit, and heady florals and aromatic plants. Then, in its flavours, it is both syrupy and herbaceous, then rustic and maritime. Straddling sunshine and shade, it reveals stunning serenity.
Colour: Deep gold
Profile: The full-bodied and mature initial nose is exotic (pineapple, apple) and honeyed,. Gradually it becomes floral (lily). The dense attack is syrupy, spicy and vanilla. It then becomes increasingly herbaceous, with the finish even painting a green and luscious countryside. The end of the palate is slightly medicinal (camphor).
This whisky was disgorged and bottled under the supervision of Andrew W. Symington (Managing Director) in the Town of Pitlochry on 18th July 2018.
