Glenfarclas 105 22 Year Old
Details
Back in the late 1960's, the world's whisky drinking habits were very different from today. Almost all the whisky available worldwide was blended and bottled at 40%. So when in 1968. George S Grant, filled some bottles straight from the cask as a Christmas gift for staff and friends, the word soon spread about this powerful and rich whisky.
The whisky in question was measured at 105° British proof, which is the equivalent of 60% alcohol / volume today, and so cask strength was born. Glenfarclas 105 soon became a recognisable part of the Glenfarclas range, and nowadays is one of the most popular whiskies they make.
This particular bottle marks the 50th anniversary of the Glenfarclas 105. Bottled at 22 years old, this bottle has a strictly limited run of only 3600 bottles. This bottle has all the hallmarks of classic Glenfarclas 105, with the additional years imparting increased depth and power to this already robust dram.
