Glengoyne 40 Year Old Director's Special Single Malts of Scotland
Details
An amazing looking release, bottled in the Director's Special range from The Single Malts of Scotland, by Elixir Distillers.
Filled from a single sherry cask.
Official tasting notes:
Nose: Cherry compote and toasted almonds form the backbone of a full and fruity aroma. Aromas of navel oranges studded with cloves, drizzled with vanilla cream and served on rich toffee sauce build with time, with gentle aromatic spices building and coming to the fore.
Palate: Juicy and thick with rich blackberry sweetness. Warming cinnamon spice and herbaceous tones intertwine with blood-orange citrus, crushed pink peppercorns and barley-sugar notes. Dense, dark fruit – juicy damsons and sloes, and baked apples – shows the influence of slow maturation in high-quality sherry casks.
Finish: Lingering spice and dried fruits envelop the palate.
Distilled at Glengoyne Distillery and bottled by Elixir Distillers
