Why they did what they did with this whisky - LBD love Glentauchers, if they were in a position to buy any Speyside distillery, which by the way they're not, then they'd buy Glentauchers. This cask was originally good, spirit mature whisky, but it lacked character or depth, something a good wood finish would help. They paired it with the Pineau des Charantes sweet dessert wine cask to add fruit and richness.
