Rum Fire pays homage to the old practice of proving a liquid's strength by lighting it on fire after throwing it on the bar counter when being sold on the black market, in days gone by. Depending on the colour of the flame, the proof was determined. Although no longer practiced, it is an important part of Trelawny's history.
