Inchgower 17YO - Cara Laing Directors Cut

This bottling is to mark two years since the launch of DouglasLaing.com. Douglas Laing asked the Directors to each select a cask from the family vaults to be bottled exclusively for our online customers and released in a trilogy series through 2017. The first of these bottlings is Directors’ Cut Inchgower 17 Years Old, matured in a Sherry butt and selected by Cara Laing. 

Cara says "When allowed to dip into some of our most treasured casks and sample Whisky that has been quietly sleeping for many years, it’s always a thrill. I tried a number of different samples for this bottling but the eventual Inchgower that I selected really resonated. 

The nose is bursting with summer red fruits, warming spices and a touch of mocha. The palate delivers layer upon layer of vanilla sweetness with tobacco, more of those dark fruits and cocoa. The finish is remarkably long and mouth-coating with more of that chocolate character coming through plus a fresh fruitiness. I tried it first on a cold February evening alongside a rich hot chocolate which was a perfect pairing and one I’d really recommend! Even a cheeky piece of dark chocolate alongside this “sherry bomb” would only further enhance the cocoa / mocha rich quality of this Malt.
