WAVERLEY - the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer - was built for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) and entered service in 1947. In 1974 she was gifted to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society for £1 and is now a world famous iconic tourist attraction offering trips throughout various areas of the UK. Owned by Waverley Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. of Glasgow, a registered charity, Waverley is powered by a Triple Expansion Steam Engine which is open to full passenger view.
