The Comparison series gives you a chance to compare two casks from their warehouse. In batch 1 they have selected two fresh bourbon casks from November 2012.
Cask 719 is distilled with their own 100% Islay Kilchoman barley at 20ppm and cask 726 is is distilled using barley sourced from Port Ellen maltings at 50ppm.
The Barley has been distilled in the same way before being matured and bottled at Kilchoman Distillery.
Each cask was matured in an ex Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrel for 8 years.
Cask 726 tasting notes:
Nose: Lemon, citrus and a sweet caramel character developing.
Palate: Lemon and citrus with a maritime sweetness.
Finish: Round and soft with a wonderfully long finish.
Cask 719 tasting notes:
Nose: Light and floral with fresh citrus notes.
Palate: A lovely balance of lemon and citrus and a hint of saltiness on the back of the palate.
Finish: Mouth coating with a light lingering finish.
