Overlooking the sleepy fishing harbour on the Isle of Mull. Tobermory Distillery produces both an unpeated and a heavily peated spirit with the latter being bottled under the distillery's original name, ledaig (pronounced lay-chack). This rich, oily single malt spent its final years in a specially selected rum cask from Diamond Distillery, in Guyana.
Distilled: 2005.
Wood: Bourbon Hogshead.
Finish: 1st Fill Diamond Rum.
Single Cask: #1900201.
Natural Colour and non-chillfiltered
One of only 263 bottles available worldwide.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Warm vanilla, sweet smoke, orchard fruit.
Palate: Tropical, oily and rich, peat explosion!
Finish: Orange, brown sugar, lingering tobacco.
