Linkwood 2007 14 Year Old, Mossburn Vintage Cask #10.0507.SC3
The Mossburn Vintage Casks range are a collection of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies each issuing from a strictly limited and select batch of casks. Each numbered release will only ever yield a finite number of bottles. While this means that they can never replicate the particular character of this Single Malt, it also offers an opportunity to sample what they believe to be an exceptional example of the whisky made by one of Scotland’s most distinguished distilleries.
Distilled: 10th May 2007.
Bottled: 12th October 2021.
Batch No: 10.0507.SC3.
Cask Bill: Cognac Barrel.
Non-chill filtered and natural colour.
One of only 243 bottles from a single cask.
Tasting notes:
Light citrussy floral nose with some sweet oak in the background. A touch more vanilla and spice evolves when a little water is added. Initially a light malty character with some fire from the spirit is at the fore, this is followed by some rather more complex dried fruit and additional spice, finishes with a little more from the oak.
