Their seasonal batch releases showcase the signature Lochlea style in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in with exactly what is happening here at that time of year. In this Fallow Edition (Second Crop) for 2023 - the third in a new set of four limited editions - they have used oloroso and pedro ximenez sherry butts. The introduction of PX casks this year creates a very different flavour profile to Fallow Edition (First crop). This whisky starts with aromas of rich manuka honey, moving to luscious golden syrup and ground coffee beans. Layers of sweetly spiced candied ginger follow, and the finish offers hints of freshly crushed almonds.
