Lochlea Harvest Edition, First Crop

Their seasonal small batch releases showcase their whisky in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in with exactly what is happening at Lochlea. In this Harvest Edition for 2022, they have used a combination of port, oloroso sherry and bourbon casks. Harvest on the farm is when the golden barley is ready to be taken in from their fields, allowed to rest on-site and eventually used for next year's production. So they created a complex whisky to reflect the unpredictable west coast summer! This expression highlights stewed apples, pear drops and marshmallows, followed by strawberries and violet, then finishing with hints of signature Lochlea cereal and freshly cut grass.
