As you all know, rum is like whisky except more esoteric and slightly more mental. If you are reading this you might be a rum fanatic, in which case thank you and good luck!
Rum Sponge Edition No 17 was distilled in 2004 at Long Pond Distillery in Jamaica. It spent most of its 18 year bonded existence maturing in the tropical paradise of Liverpool in Englandshire. They bottled it at 60%, which entailed a fair bit of reduction from its natural cask strength, which was a - frankly outrageous and very silly - 67%!
The result is a charming continentally aged example of this wonderfully rich and charismatic Jamaican rum.
