Mortlach 1991 27 Year Old Signatory 30th Anniversary Cask #4239
Founded in 1823, the Mortlach distillery is located in Dufftown, in the very heart of Speyside. It produces a single malt that enjoys high acclaim amongst enthusiasts. The distillery is renowned for its partial triple distillation method. Distilled on 14th May 1991, this sherry cask bottling begins by revealing a very complex aromatic palette. In terms of flav0ours, it then delights with a delicate mouthfeel, exotic fruit and noble spices.
Colour: Copper with glints of green
Profile: The complex initial nose offers beeswax, dried apricot, grape and nutmeg. Allowed to breathe, a second sequence of aromas arrives with bitter orange, ginger, verbena and raspberry. The silky attack is chocolatey and praline. It has a very deilicate mouthfeel. Gradually it becomes exotic (pineapple). The silky finish is milky (coconut), honeyed and mentholated.
This whisky was disgorged and bottled under the supervision of Andrew W. Symington (Managing Director) in the Town of Pitlochry on 11th June 2018.
