Mortlach 1997 20 Year Old Chieftain's The Cigar Malt Cask #5252
Details
Chieftain's is a multi-award-winning collection of extremely rare malts, some from closed or mothballed distilleries, each bottling is fit for a King, a Leader or in the Celtic world, a Chieftain.
From their unrivaled cask stocks, this very rare single malt scotch whisky has been chosen to meet the exacting criteria of their selection panel.
The new 2017 edition of the Cigar Malt was selected from a wide variety of distillery casks. This top class, full bodied single malt, distilled on 22nd April 1997, in the heart of Speyside, was matured for 20 years in a first fill Oloroso sherry cask.
Their expert cigar nosing panel chose this particular cask for its complex body and structure, seen as the perfect balance and character to accompany a full bodied cigar. It was decided that this cask should be bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.7%. This Accentuates the perfect balance between the spicy, rich chocolate toffee and fruity character of the whisky with the power of the alcohol and the cigars. Like all Chieftain's, the cigar malt is bottled at natural colour with no chill-filtration to enhance all the flavours of the whisky.
