Mortlach Rare Old - 43.4%

This is the first release of the 'relaunched' Mortlach by Diageo, to be followed soon by an 18 Year Old and then 25 Year Old.

This is a complex and bold expression with Mortlach's signature exquisite balance of sweetness and dryness for which the distillery is renowned.
Superbly structured and well balanced, the whisky’s fruit and floral notes on the nose introduce a rich, energetic palate and a pleasantly drying finish.

Lighter in nature compared to the now discontinued Mortlach Flora and Fauna.

The distillation is quite unique, averaging at 2.81x Distilled, so sometimes double distilled, triple distilled and quadruple distilled to give this unique '2.81' distillation number.
