Compass Box, Myths & Legends III
Artwork story:
Whisky is about creativity, not categories. No single malt whisky is too 'sacred' to contribute to an exciting blend.
The minotaur represents the legendary stature of 'famous' single malts. However, this minotaur has left the darkness of the labyrinth behind. It has grown tired of its solitary confinement, preferring its new environment amongst the tropical plants from the label of Myths & Legends II.
The 3 releases in the Myths & Legends range creates a triptych - a single connected image in three parts, populated with mythical characters.
Compass Box Myths & Legends III have taken some of the same parcels of malt whisky used in II and added peated malt whiskies from a pair of celebrated island distilleries. Thanks to them, II's flavours of tropical fruits and butterscotch are now further enriched by a deep and enchantingly aromatic peat profile.
Never blend the famous names? The breadth of complex flavours found in Myths & Legends III dismantles such superstitious thinking.
This is the third of three playful and thought provoking whiskies. We hope you'll take the opportunity to try the full Myths & Legends series before reflecting on - and guarding against - the dangerous siren that is 'received wisdom'.
