This is O.O.2, their second bottling in their Old Orkney series.
For this bottling they selected a 2004 refill hogshead which they’ve bottled at 19 years of age and with several degrees reduction to 53%. They felt this magnified the coastal and classical heather honey notes of this Orkney single malt. This is slightly less peaty than O.O.1, but no less evocative or powerful, and indeed the extra maturity brings a richness and depth to this whisky that is hugely satisfying.
