Passo Del Cardinale Primitivo di Manduria 2023
Details
Passo Del Cardinale Primitivo di Manduria 2023 is a red wine from Puglia, produced from the Primitivo grape in the Manduria and Sava areas of the province of Taranto.
Primitivo is an ancient grape variety known for its early ripening. A distinctive characteristic of this variety is its ability to produce a second harvest shortly after the first, traditionally used to enhance freshness and balance within the wine.
This Primitivo di Manduria DOP is produced from 40-year-old Apulian bush vines grown in sandy soils, with careful vineyard management and controlled yields. Harvesting takes place in the early morning to preserve the character of the grapes.
Vinification is carried out in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, with extended maceration on the skins to extract colour and structure. The wine is then matured for 3 months in American oak barriques followed by 6 months in steel.
Bottled at 14% ABV, this is a structured and full-bodied Italian red wine from one of the most recognised Primitivo appellations.
