Poit Dhubh (pronounced Potch Ghoo) is the Gaelic term for an illicit still, renowned traditionally for producing the finest whiskies.
This 8 year old whisky is medium sweet and rich, with a good aromatic backbone of peatiness. A long smoky and slighly perfumed finish.
Following the best of traditional methods, this whisky is non-chill filtered, imparting a softness to the spirit, and a richness to the flavour. It may appear hazy if chilled.
Local legend claims that having gaelic on the label greatly improves the flavours.
