Portobello Road Local Heroes Gin, Mark Knopfler Limited Edition

The Local heroes are a collection of very limited edition gins created in collaboration with some of our own personal heroes, people whom we feel best embody the spirit of Portobello Road Gin.

For No.3 they have teamed up eith Mr. Mark Knopfler, lead singler, lead guitarist, and songwriter of rock band Dire Straits, founder of roots band The Notting Hillbillies and composer of numerous movie scores including, rather serendipitously , 1983's much loved Scottish comedy / drama Local Hero.

Named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the fifty greatest guitarists of all time, Mark also happens to be something of a gin fan. working with their co-founder Jake Burger, their in house music enthusiast Del Jones and The Distillery's very own distilling team, Mark suggested a direction in which he would like to take the recipe and together they created a bold gin with all the original botanicals found in the classic Portobello Road Gin complimented by fresh lime zest, fresh cucumber peel and, somewhat uniquely, olive oil.
