Rumours Chapter 3 14 Year Old, Uncharted Whisky

The Rumours series finale. This is the third of three exceptional casks, all from the salty shores of Islay, all cask strength and all enigmatically un-disclosed distilleries of origin. Each bottle has been lovingly bottled by hand, hand labelled and individually numbered. Through-out this sought after Rumours series, they have not been able to name any of the Islay distilleries on the labels, but they have always been able to hint… maybe even started a Rumour or three?

Natural cask strength, single cask and only 276 bottles.

Tasting notes:
Nose: At first rich and mellow seaside smoke and smoky bacon ascend out the glass. More delicate lemon drizzle cake and oak emerge a little later on.

Palate: Lemon oil coats the mouth mingling beautifully with the smoke mellowed by the years. Fresh baking aromatics accompany crisp fragrances. A touch of water brings freshly cracker pepper to life.

Finish: In contrast to many whiskies, the finish exposes a rich earthiness that builds with time rather than fades. Long and smoky with touches of the pepper and savoury baking.
