Beloved by canny collectors, and those with the most discerning whisky palates, lovers of fine music, and voracious readers worldwide. From backstage dressing rooms, tour buses, private jets ... to local pubs or high-end restaurants — it’s a rare experience in the single malt world where we find a whisky more revered than the maestro’s namesake... The Professor.

Distilled on 23rd May 2008, The Professor is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky from a secret Speyside distillery. Matured in a fine and rare sherry cask for 15 years before being bottled for our Volume One.

Nose: Honey glazed dried apricot, ginger and toffee. Rich orange with hints of clove and nutmeg ... with a gossamer thin crescendo of deep, peaty smoke – almost like sitting downwind from a campfire.

Palate: Rich sundried concord grapes and sultana with notes of freshly-torched crème brûlée, Madagascar vanilla beans, and ginger, balanced by the complex and signature counterpoint and polyrhythms of newly splintered applewood drumsticks, spice and zesty citrus.

Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet Amalfian blood orange, tanned leather, black Mallory pipe tobacco and a well-worn highland cooskin drumhead.

“The liquid is reminiscent of old school sherry cask whiskies from the early 80’s and we are extremely proud to be involved with this project” - Craig Dearden, TyndrumWhisky.com

“Based on The Professor’s favourite tipple with an added cigar smokiness and caramel that evaporates off the tongue, the way great cask strengths do.” - Steve Brown, RUSHfest Scotland

“Fek (!) ... that’s hellish good stuff.” - Hugh Syme, Resident Art Director and Confidant to The Professor

“Thank you Steve, Hugh and Craig at The Green Welly Stop for making this happen.” - Betty Peart, Neil’s Mom
