Decadent Drinks are always on the lookout for new and interesting single malts. This whisky from German distiller Ralf Hauer really impressed them with its power, purity and vivid peat flavours. German whisky with a decidedly Scottish accent.
This was distilled in 2014 and filled into 1st fill bourbon barrels where it was matured for 8 years in Germany before transferring to the UK for bottling. They bottled this with a few degrees reduction to 57.1% to help the distillate character shine loud and clear.
Edition 73A was distilled using peated malt and presents a beautifully rugged and pure take on peat flavour, with breads, spices and smoky / salty notes in abundance.
