Details
Sometimes when a whisky is described simply as coming from 'a Speyside distillery', the obvious question is - which one? This bottling from Little Brown Dog leans into the mystery with its playful title: Not Secret Speyside.
Distilled in 2009 and matured for 16 years, this single malt comes from the Speyside distillery in Kingussie. Selected by Little Brown Dog, the whisky was matured in an American oak refill sherry hogshead - a cask style the team particularly enjoy working with at this age for the balance it offers between spirit character and gentle cask influence.
The label artwork also takes inspiration from the whisky's origins. The distillery sits close to the Highland Wildlife Park, and the Little Brown Dog team chose one of the park's most striking residents for the bottle - the snow leopard. It was a close decision between wildcats and polar bears, but the snow leopard ultimately won out. The image used is a genuine photograph rather than AI-generated artwork.
This release is another example of Little Brown Dog's independent bottlings, combining carefully selected casks with distinctive and characterful label designs.
